A celebration of “nervousness”, a trait so often labeled as a flaw in women, but which, for us, is pure fuel.
Energy that drives us to make things happen.
When we’re scared, tense, or uncertain, we don’t freeze - we create. We take initiative, build from nothing, nurture connections, and put our hearts into shaping stories that make a positive impact on people and culture.
And yes, the name is also a playful tribute to a legendary Italian trattoria in Toronto, where my ex once worked.
A little Nervy, a little Noisy and Impossible to Forget.
I’ve wanted to be a film director since I was a little girl. My first attempt was a 25-minute black-and-white period biopic, shot with schoolmates. From that moment on, I never stopped.
At 19, I moved to London to study at Met Film School and NFTS, making shorts and working on film sets. But I knew that if I wanted my voice to stand out, I had to create something personal and unique. That’s how A Cup of Coffee with Marilyn was born - a short film starring Miriam Leone, based on a true episode in the life of iconic Italian reporter Oriana Fallaci. The film changed my life: it won several awards, including the prestigious Nastro d’Argento in 2020.
From that success, I developed the concept of Miss Fallaci, an 8-part TV series on Oriana’s early years as a Hollywood reporter. Picked up by Paramount at MIA Market in 2020, it was produced by Minerva Pictures and Redstring Pictures. I co-wrote and directed episodes, confirming my call not only as a director but also as a creative producer.
Off the back of that success, I was able to sell and develop several concepts and scripts with Italian and British production companies. Most of them eventually fell into that all-too-familiar limbo of projects in development, and I quickly learned that my first success story had been an extraordinary exception to the rule.
I realized I wanted to make the projects I didn’t see being made around me, testing my own ways - stories that shake things up, that put women at the centre, and that amplify funny neurotic voices often underrepresented on screen and behind the camera. That’s why I founded Nervosa Pictures.
Nervosa is where I channel my skills, network, and unstoppable passion into developing and producing stories that connect with audiences hungry for originality. It’s also a bridge to my double identity - Italian and British - a space where cultural hybridity is a strength, not a gap. I’m especially drawn to creatives with multiple roots and identities, whose projects reflect that richness.
