Film - TV - Events Production Company
Bridging Italian and UK Cultural Landscapes
With feminine energy.
Based in London.
Filmmaker led.
Nervosa Pictures is a London-based independent production company founded by award-winning Italian-British filmmaker Alessandra Gonnella, creating bold, female-led Film & TV with a distinctly European point of view.
Born from the space between British and Italian culture, Nervosa develops and produces original stories with sharp humour, big emotions and international ambition — with a particular love for comedy, romance and characters who refuse to behave.
Founder Alessandra Gonnella began her career with A Cup of Coffee with Marilyn, starring Miriam Leone, which won the Nastro d’Argento for Best Fiction Short. She went on to originate Miss Fallaci, the international series inspired by the early life of Oriana Fallaci, following its award-winning pitch at MIA Market. Produced by Minerva Pictures and Redstring Pictures, the series premiered internationally on Paramount+ and in Italy in primetime on Rai 1, with Alessandra serving as a writer and director.
Through Nervosa, Alessandra has since expanded from filmmaker to producer. The company’s first BFI-backed production, Tiramisù, was produced with the support of BFI NETWORK, while Nervosa is currently developing a slate of feature film and television projects across the UK and Italy.
Alongside production, Nervosa creates cultural events connecting British and Italian cinema, collaborating with filmmakers, talent, academics and institutions. Recent projects have ranged from high profile screenings and industry conversations to Above and Below the Line: The Labour of Women in Post-War Italian Cinema, developed with the University of Warwick, Cineteca di Bologna and Oxford Brookes University.
